Senior Consultant - International Tax

About the role

The Senior Consultant will focus on BEPS 2.0, applying technical tax knowledge to client compliance and reporting projects, and leading cross‑border tax initiatives. The role involves advising multinational and local clients on a wide range of business tax matters and collaborating with other Deloitte service lines worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a significant focus on BEPS 2.0 implementation and related compliance.
• Apply technical tax knowledge to support leadership on client compliance and reporting projects.
• Assist partners and directors in developing solutions in response to evolving tax and accounting regulations in China and globally.
• Lead China and cross‑border business tax projects for multinational and local clients.
• Advise on business tax matters from compliance to strategic planning, including expansion, acquisition, divestment, and reorganization.
• Collaborate with other Deloitte offices and service lines to deliver cross‑functional and cross‑border projects.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, handling Hong Kong profits tax compliance and dispute resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in tax, accounting, finance, law or related fields.
• Professional accounting qualification, PRC‑registered tax agent, or lawyer status.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a tax function within CPA firms (Big 4 preferred), law firms, tax authorities or large corporations.
• In‑depth understanding of tax policies, rules and regulations.
• Strong analytical ability and commitment to high‑quality client service.
• Excellent consultation, communication, self‑initiative, teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
• Proven project management, interpersonal, leadership and business development skills.
• Fluent written and oral English; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
