Senior Category Buyer

About the role

Aptiv is seeking a Senior Category Buyer to lead sourcing, supplier selection and cost‑reduction initiatives for its automotive components business. The role works closely with global commodity teams, engineering, and business managers to ensure competitive BOM costs and reliable supply.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies, establishing long‑term contracts with multi‑year cost‑reduction targets.
• Source and qualify suppliers that meet quality, volume and cost criteria, and maintain a global approved supplier list.
• Support new project bidding, ensure competitive BOM pricing, and lead cross‑PBU negotiations.
• Monitor supplier performance, create assessment and development plans, and drive continuous cost‑reduction.
• Collaborate with technical leads to integrate specifications and act as engineering liaison.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commercial or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in commodity purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, fluent in Mandarin and English.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems and influence cross‑functional teams.
