Senior Associate, Intellectual Property Service

About the role

This Senior Associate, Intellectual Property Service role reviews engineering projects, protects inventions and prevents infringement of intellectual property rights for the company. It reports to the Global Head of Intellectual Property Service and is described as an important, highly visible position. The company offers an attractive compensation package.

Key responsibilities

• Support the lead IP counsel in developing an IP strategy aligned with business unit goals and in implementing it
• Advise business unit management on all IP-related matters
• Develop and execute IP risk control approaches for divisions
• Handle routine IP work such as patent drafting, prosecution, patent search, freedom-to-operate and patentability analysis

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above, major in Engineering or Law
• Chinese patent agent certificate (or passing the examination) is mandatory
• More than 8 years of solid experience handling Chinese patent cases, skilled in patent drafting, prosecution, search, freedom-to-operate and patentability analysis
• Experience with US, European and Japanese cases is a plus; trademark experience is a plus
• Company and engineering work experience are advantages
