Scientific Editor – iScience Open Access Journal

About the role

iScience is expanding its editorial team for the open‑access journal covering life and physical sciences. The position is for an Associate or Scientific Editor who will help researchers publish their work efficiently and with high quality.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit and attract high‑impact research papers and reviews for iScience.
• Assess submitted manuscripts and oversee the peer‑review process for direct and transferred submissions.
• Build and maintain relationships with researchers, editorial board members and Cell Press colleagues.
• Represent the journal at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions.
• Collaborate with academic editorial board members and other editors to ensure rigorous editorial standards.

Required profile

• PhD in Life or Health Sciences, preferably with a translational medical/health background and strong network.
• Broad scientific interests and ability to think critically across diverse topics.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and prioritization skills.
• Creativity, willingness to experiment and improve editorial processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative team.
