About the role
KLA, part of the Semiconductor Products and Customers business unit, is looking for a Robotics Software Engineer in Shanghai. You will design, develop and maintain software for robotic and automation systems used in advanced semiconductor equipment, working closely with mechanical, electrical, system and application engineers to deliver reliable, scalable and high-performance robotic solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain software for robotic handling and automation systems.
- Implement motion control, robot path planning, sequencing and machine control logic.
- Develop software components for robot communication, device control, sensors, actuators and vision systems.
- Optimize system performance, reliability and throughput for high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and system integration issues.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Manufacturing and Field Service engineers.
- Take part in software architecture design, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support product releases, customer escalations and field issues when needed.
Required profile
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Automation Control or a related field.
- 3+ years of software development experience in robotics, automation, industrial equipment or related areas.
- Preferred: experience with semiconductor equipment, handlers, EFEM, wafer handling systems, factory automation, robotics control platforms, robot kinematics, real-time systems or embedded software, and global cross-functional teams.
- Minimum qualification: doctorate (academic) with 0 years of related work experience, or master's degree with 1 year of related work experience.
