Quantitative Researcher

About the role

AlphaGrep Securities is seeking a Quantitative Researcher to join its Shanghai team. You will work on developing and enhancing algorithmic trading strategies for equities, commodities, FX, and fixed income, leveraging the firm’s low‑latency infrastructure and quantitative expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, maintain, and enhance trading strategies and business opportunities for market‑making algorithmic trading teams.
• Analyze trading performance and financial time‑series data using statistical methods.
• Automate trading strategies through systematic, data‑driven approaches.
• Construct, back‑test, maintain, and improve financial models.
• Collaborate with technology teams to understand, maintain, and improve the electronic trading system.
• Manage risk and adhere to detailed risk procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in a STEM field from a top‑tier institute.
• 2+ years of industry experience in quantitative research or trading.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a passion for new technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Programming in C++.
• Programming in Python.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts.
