Quality Manager

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is hiring a Quality Manager for its Food Ingredients business in Zhaoqing, Guangdong. The role is on-site and sits within an agile, proactive team focused on improving the quality of products used every day.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, implement and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure product quality, process quality and KPI achievement.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across Quality and Plant operations.
• Reduce internal and external quality deviations through root cause analysis, CAPA and continuous improvement programs.
• Manage customer, third-party, vendor and regulatory audits, and lead internal audit activities.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory requirements, including HACCP, FSSC 22000 and local regulations.
• Oversee quality requirements for new products, process changes and supplier quality management.
• Lead and develop QA/QC laboratory operations so raw materials, packaging, intermediates and finished products meet quality standards.
• Build and develop the QA/QC team through coaching, performance management and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of experience in food, pharmaceutical or related manufacturing, including at least 3 years of people leadership in Quality Management.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Preferred: experience in a multinational manufacturing environment, strong commercial awareness, sensory evaluation expertise and support for new product development.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety regulations and QMS such as FSSC 22000, BRC or AIB.
• Proven experience managing quality systems, audits, compliance programs and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of SPC and quality improvement methodologies.
