Transformer Testing Intern

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY's Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff and runs 5 transformer manufacturing plants. This full-time, on-site internship in Datong, Shanxi focuses on transformer testing, quality improvement and test documentation. The company offers internal talent development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare transformer test documents, design testing tools and write technical specifications for testing equipment, and help solve quality problems.
• Improve processes and tools for product quality and efficiency, and ensure compliance with safety, occupational health and environmental protection responsibilities.
• Complete factory tests and body tests of transformers and reactors, analyse major test failures, find root causes, develop corrective actions and improve procedures.
• Propose technical improvements for the testing station, prepare new project test outlines, evaluate test station capacity and give opinions and plans.
• Train new team members in test operations, analyse and evaluate test results and prepare test report templates.
• Maintain and update technical and support documents, propose improvements to test techniques and ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering or a related major; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Familiarity with transformers and related standards.
• Fluent spoken and written English to discuss technical issues with foreign colleagues.
• Self-motivated, curious, able to learn new technologies, a team player with good communication skills, and conscientious and careful.
• Complies with national employment age regulations; no gender restriction.
