About the role
The Communications team at General Motors seeks a Product & Technology Communications professional to shape how GM’s vehicles, brand identity, and technological advancements are perceived in China. This on‑site role in Shanghai will focus on vehicle launches, product positioning, and integrated brand narratives for both internal and external audiences.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute communications strategies for EV, ICE, AV, and software innovations.
- Craft narratives and content for vehicle launches, product positioning, and brand campaigns.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to translate technical advancements into clear messaging.
- Engage media, employees, influencers, stakeholders, and consumers to amplify product differentiation and brand reputation.
- Create external thought‑leadership and public‑affairs strategies for senior executives.
Required profile
- Strong analytical ability to break down complex challenges and propose actionable initiatives.
- Proven experience influencing senior internal and external partners without direct authority.
- Ability to use data and analysis to demonstrate project value and address objections.
- Independent worker who can operate with minimal guidance and mentor less‑experienced colleagues.
