Principal Procurement

About the role

The Principal Procurement role leads strategic sourcing and supplier management for an industrial organization. You will drive cost savings, ensure supply continuity, and align procurement activities with global policies and corporate compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, delivery, and payment terms with suppliers and establish contracts in line with company regulations.
• Monitor order execution, manage delivery schedules, payments, and resolve emergencies to maintain reliable supply.
• Collaborate with end‑users, global teams, and internal stakeholders to capture requirements and enforce global procurement policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation for purchase orders, contracts, and vendor qualifications.
• Conduct annual supplier assessments, develop a robust indirect‑category supply base, and drive corrective actions.
• Lead cross‑functional projects, support special initiatives, and report recommendations to senior management.
• Implement supplier risk‑management strategies, develop secondary sources for critical materials, and achieve high on‑time delivery rates.
• Prepare procurement analytics, benchmark spend data, and contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial supply chain, technical or quality functions.
• At least 5 years of team‑management experience.
• Proven ability to work in a matrixed organization and coordinate with Admin, MRO, Facility, EHS, and Logistics functions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
