Key responsibilities
- Review specifications to determine paper sheet size for the cutting process.
- Measure sheet edges with a scale and calculate incremental cutting positions.
- Enter cutting positions into computer memory in the correct order.
- Load sheets onto the cutter bed, align them against the guide, and activate the cutting sequence.
- Operate double‑hand switches to start cutting and monitor the operation.
- Inspect cut material for imperfections and adjust the program as needed.
- Remove finished material, stack on pallets for shipment or the next operation.
- Record job information on load tags and timesheets.
- Change knives and lubricate equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area around the cutter.
- Coordinate with downstream teams to ensure timely delivery of cut sheets.
