Medical Research Specialist

About the role

Biogen China is looking for a Medical Research Specialist in Shanghai to set the strategy for study execution and publication. The role works closely with the medical manager to generate data for Biogen China-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies, including Phase IV studies, investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and other studies addressing stakeholder needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update China study SOPs, handbooks and clinical operation guidance aligned with global SOPs, and create protocols for Biogen China-sponsored studies
• Manage project operations according to protocol, contracts, GCP and SOPs, and act as the main contact for the China data generation team
• Select, manage and train vendors, own vendor contracts and payments, and oversee study quality through risk identification and corrective actions
• Supervise project Clinical Research Associates, prepare for study audits, and coordinate data analysis and publication with global medical and publication teams
• Maintain the study tracking system (MARS) and ensure local publication SOPs match global ones

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy or a related scientific discipline preferred
• At least 2 years of experience in clinical research, clinical studies and/or scientific publications; relevant clinical experience required
• Proven project management experience handling multiple priorities and stakeholders
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese
• Team player in an international, diverse environment with a strong customer orientation
