Legal Counsel – Operation China

About the role

Alfa Laval is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its Operation China unit. The role focuses on ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, and enabling business growth across a range of commercial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and manage business risks from a legal perspective, covering sales, distribution, manufacturing, development, IP, product liability, M&A, regulatory matters, claims and litigations.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex supply, service and purchase contracts, including EPC agreements, in line with Alfa Laval standards.
• Provide compliance support for fair competition, export control and sanctions, collaborating with internal functions.
• Work closely with Greater China in‑house counsel and central groups such as IP, Risk & Compliance, Finance and Sustainability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of policies, templates and supporting tools.
• Deliver training and awareness on commercial contracts, corporate governance and compliance.
• Manage disputes and coordinate litigation with external counsel.
• Advise management on legal matters to maximize opportunities and stay updated on legislative changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law with a professional legal qualification.
• 7‑8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a multinational manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of export control, international sanctions and EU trade/compliance regulations.
• Fluent oral English with excellent legal English reading and writing abilities.
• Ability to independently handle foreign‑related contracts and supply‑chain compliance matters.
