About the role
Syensqo is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide M&A, corporate and commercial law support for its Greater China operations. You will work directly with business units, advising on complex transactions and ensuring legal compliance while protecting the company’s interests.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and advise on legal and business matters related to M&A, joint ventures, divestments, and liquidations.
- Provide corporate governance, dispute, regulatory, employment and compliance support.
- Negotiate, draft and review sales, purchasing, distribution and tolling agreements.
- Identify legal risks in day‑to‑day operations and deliver practical solutions.
- Develop and deliver legal training programs for internal teams.
- Engage and manage external counsel when required.
Required profile
- Law degree from a reputable Chinese university and successful completion of the Chinese Bar Exam.
- 8+ years of experience in a law firm or in‑house role, with a focus on M&A projects in China.
- Strong transactional experience and ability to work independently.
- Excellent research, analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven project‑management experience and ability to collaborate in cross‑functional teams.
- Fluency in English.
