Junior Architect – Shenzhen

About the role

AECOM is looking for a motivated Junior Architect to join its dynamic team in Shenzhen, China. You will contribute to complex infrastructure and mixed‑use projects, supporting design development from concept through construction documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze project backgrounds, interpret requirements and develop feasible design strategies.
• Assist Project Director and Manager with schedule and budget planning.
• Produce construction drawings, presentation materials, design reports and all contractual deliverables.
• Coordinate cross‑disciplinary design work with internal teams, external consultants and suppliers.
• Proofread, review and revise design documents throughout project phases.
• For senior‑level candidates, manage client communication, team coordination and resolve complex technical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of professional architectural design experience covering conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documentation.
• Experience with mixed‑use, commercial office, retail, hospitality and public building projects.
• Proven track record on medium‑to‑large scale projects is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Design tools: Rhino, Grasshopper, D5, Enscape, Lumion, Revit, BIM, AutoCAD.
• Project management software: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Acrobat.
