Investment Vice President

About the role

Medtronic, a global healthcare technology company, is looking for an Investment VP in Shanghai. The role leads and executes the end-to-end investment process for one or more designated portfolios (for example CV, NS or MS), covering deal sourcing and screening, diligence, negotiation, closing, portfolio management and exit.

Key responsibilities

• Lead deal evaluation, including business and strategic value, competitive landscape, clinical and legal considerations, financial modelling and deal structure design.
• Drive business collaborations related to venture deals in line with corporate strategy, working with global and local stakeholders.
• Independently manage deals, including execution, Investment Committee presentations and follow-through.
• Act as a key point of contact and bridge global and local stakeholders, bringing China insights to inform global strategy.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant investment experience.
• Strong expertise in a core domain such as cardiovascular, neuroscience or medical surgical.
• Consistently strong performance track record in the current role.
• Hands-on experience managing the full investment lifecycle, and corporate development and/or venture experience preferred.
• High learning agility, ability to influence in a matrix organization, strong ownership and clear motivation for international exposure and stretch assignments.
• An MBA/EMBA degree and relevant clinical, science and engineering backgrounds are preferred.
