Head of HR and Workplace

About the role

The Head of HR & Workplace will lead the Human Resources function and all site services—including security, EHS and facility management—for Airbus Lifecycle Services in Chengdu. Reporting to the ALS General Manager, the role combines strategic HR leadership with operational oversight of the site’s safety, environmental and infrastructure programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall HR strategy, ensuring compliance with local regulations and Airbus global policies.
• Lead site security, occupational health & safety (OHS) and environmental management systems, driving a safe and eco‑friendly workplace.
• Oversee facility management, energy performance, and sub‑contractor coordination to maintain operational continuity.
• Partner with internal customers and production teams to deliver timely HR, security and EHS services.
• Manage budgets, KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives across HR and site services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 5 years of HR and site‑service leadership experience, preferably in the aviation industry.
• Fluent English communication skills and familiarity with Chinese labour and safety regulations.
• Relevant certifications such as Registered Safety Engineer (intermediate level) or CCAR‑398 are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industrial, aeronautical and environmental ISO standards and EHS regulations.
• Knowledge of MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) processes and aircraft recycling requirements.
• Understanding of electricity systems, water‑treatment facilities and industrial building equipment (e.g., overhead cranes, industrial doors).
• Experience in airport safety and fire‑safety management.
• Project‑management capability for large‑scale site‑service initiatives.
