GL Junior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join the Global Ledger (GL) team at Hempel. The role will support the finance function in a fast‑growing chemicals company, handling a wide range of accounting tasks and ensuring compliance with reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fixed‑asset accounting, including capitalization, disposals and depreciation postings.
• Monitor and account for Assets Under Construction (AUC), handling capitalization and transfers.
• Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, provisions, pre‑payments and other period‑end adjustments.
• Reconcile and clear balance‑sheet accounts, investigating and resolving outstanding items.
• Execute payroll accounting based on payroll reports.
• Maintain current‑account, intercompany and loan balances, including foreign‑currency revaluation.
• Prepare and post recurring and ad‑hoc journal entries.
• Compile and submit group reporting packages through OneStream.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and ensure proper documentation and audit trails.
• Support compliance with IFRS, local GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Entry‑level graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Finance Controllers and other stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
• Experience with OneStream reporting platform.
• Understanding of foreign‑currency revaluation and intercompany reconciliations.
