Full-stack .NET/React Developer

About the role

The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) of the United Nations is seeking a Full‑stack .NET/React developer to design, develop, and support web applications and services, including those with geospatial or AI components. The consultant will work onsite in Deqing, China, for an initial six‑month period with the possibility of renewal.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug and implement new web applications using .NET Core and React.
• Contribute technical expertise during requirements analysis to improve solution design.
• Prepare technical and user documentation, training materials, and deliver technical presentations.
• Manage version control with Git and provide 3rd‑level support, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance for deployed applications.
• Perform benchmarking, stay updated on emerging tools and libraries, and propose improvements.
• Support applications with geospatial and/or AI components following UN standards.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, or a first‑level degree plus two years relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience building web applications with React and .NET Core.
• At least 3 years of experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, SQL and REST APIs.
• Experience with Azure Functions is desirable.
