Engineering Specialist / Expert – Home Appliances

About the role

The Engineering Specialist / Expert will combine R&D engineering and product quality responsibilities for home‑appliance solutions, primarily in residential air‑conditioning and heating. Based in Shanghai, you will work closely with product managers, purchasing and European teams to bring competitive OEM concepts to market.

Key responsibilities

• Collect customer demands and translate them into technical specifications together with product management.
• Develop OEM product concepts, perform benchmarking and support the sourcing process.
• Design, simulate and verify product functions, modules and systems with suppliers.
• Set up and validate product quality and reliability test plans, including risk assessments and preventive actions.
• Conduct DFMEA and PFMEA, ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements in target markets.
• Support the European team in resolving field complaints during mass production.
• Manage drawings, standards and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of system engineering experience in the home‑appliance sector, preferably residential air‑conditioning or heating.
• Strong knowledge of household‑appliance engineering systems and European air‑conditioner standards.
• Native Chinese speaker with fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with engineering software such as Altium, MATLAB, MiniTab, AutoCAD and UG.
• Experience with engineering quality methods: FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA and 8D problem‑solving.
• Ability to create and manage technical drawings, perform engineering analysis and integrate product systems.
