Global Product & Application Expert – PureBallast

About the role

Alfa Laval Ocean Division is seeking a Global Product & Application Expert for its PureBallast ballast water treatment systems. The role serves as the worldwide technical subject‑matter expert, providing product expertise, application support and compliance guidance to customers, shipyards, ship‑owners and classification societies.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the global subject‑matter expert for PureBallast systems, covering product structure, UV treatment technology, system configuration and upgrade solutions.
• Provide customized system design, technical proposals and feasibility analyses for marine projects, supporting pre‑sales communication and project bidding.
• Track and interpret IMO ballast water management conventions, international regulations and classification society rules, ensuring product compliance with certifications such as USCG and IMO Type Approval.
• Deliver product training, application guidance and case sharing to global sales teams, distributors and partners, and resolve technical inquiries throughout project phases.
• Troubleshoot cross‑regional technical issues, abnormal system operation and application mismatches, feeding feedback to R&D and product management.
• Compile, update and standardise global technical documents, manuals, FAQs and guidelines to ensure consistent application standards.
• Monitor global BWTS market trends, competitor technologies and policy updates, providing analysis for product positioning and competitive strategy.

Required skills
