Data Scientist – Computer Vision & Machine Learning

About the role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join Bosch Powertrain Systems RBCD in China. You will apply computer vision and machine learning techniques to develop automatic optical inspection (AOI) solutions and optimise manufacturing processes through AI.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal partners and customers to understand requirements and evaluate project benefits.
• Lead the end‑to‑end development of AI/ML algorithms from proof‑of‑concept to serial production.
• Design and implement data pipelines, storage, and processing concepts for manufacturing data.
• Coordinate AI work packages across RBCD’s manufacturing sites.
• Support data‑mining projects such as smart testing and multi‑correlational analysis.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in computer vision, image processing, machine learning or deep learning.
• More than 3 years of hands‑on experience in real‑world AI projects.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and willingness to take on challenges.

Required skills

• Proficient in Python.
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong knowledge of OpenCV and classic image‑processing techniques (filtering, edge detection, feature extraction, camera calibration).
• Deep learning expertise: CNN, RNN, LSTM, Transformer and architectures such as AlexNet, VGG, ResNet, DenseNet, MobileNet.
• Understanding of machine‑learning algorithms and data quality management.
