About the role
Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and advanced display technologies. The Customer Engineer – DDP will work on-site in Dalian, China, providing installation, maintenance, and upgrades of cutting‑edge equipment while collaborating closely with customers.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment, applying basic diagnostic techniques.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to understand roadmaps, process flows, and business challenges.
- Train and mentor junior field service engineers.
- Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
Required profile
- Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
- 4–7 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools and digital multimeters.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
