Customer Engineer (Field Service) – C1 Level

About the role

The Customer Engineer (C1) acts as the primary liaison with Applied Materials' customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostics to resolve technical issues while ensuring high‑quality service on site.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Utilise digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.
• Fulfil additional duties as assigned, including travel up to 20% of the time.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
• Ability to meet on‑site safety, environmental and COVID‑19 protocols.
