Compliance Director – Shanghai

About the role

Pfizer is seeking a senior Compliance Director to lead and strengthen our compliance and ethics framework in Shanghai. You will partner with senior management to ensure that all business activities meet the highest legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, directly supporting patient safety and regulatory excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and advice on compliance matters to senior leadership and ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Design, oversee, and continuously improve complex compliance programs and initiatives across multiple business units.
• Lead or co‑lead high‑impact projects, develop mid‑term plans, and drive innovative solutions to complex compliance challenges.
• Conduct compliance audits, investigations, and risk assessments, and recommend corrective actions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of compliance activities, review colleague work, and maintain high performance standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to address compliance issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; advanced degree in law or related field is a plus.
• 10–15 years of compliance experience in the pharmaceutical (or medical device) industry.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex compliance programs and leading cross‑functional projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to influence senior management and navigate complex regulatory environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with compliance management software and tools.
• Experience using AI‑assisted tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot for problem solving and productivity.
