Clinical Research Physician

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Clinical Research Physician to provide frontline scientific expertise for therapeutic area development in China. The role supports portfolio assessment, development planning, protocol discussions, trial quality and safety oversight, regulatory submissions, and life‑cycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Support the TA Head and Global TA Science Lead by proposing development strategies and clinical pathways for new compound registrations in China.
• Act as China Local Development Project Lead, assessing trial opportunities, prioritising diseases and compounds, and providing scientific inputs to the global target product profile.
• Provide clinical expertise to design development plans and protocols that meet local regulatory requirements and enable efficient registration.
• Initiate development‑led medical activities such as surveys, advisory board meetings, KOL visits, and other insight‑gathering actions to support the clinical development plan.
• Collaborate closely with Regulatory Affairs to create efficient registration pathways, generate and review China regulatory filing materials from CTA through NDA approval.
• Establish scientific partnerships with Chinese academia and key study centres to ensure high‑quality implementation.
• Deliver medical and scientific training to Clinical Development Operations and investigators to ensure consistency across studies.
