Buyer – Supply Chain Management (Level 07)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Buyer to support our supply chain operations in Suzhou. The role is responsible for procuring goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery while controlling costs.

Key responsibilities

• Procure parts, supplies and services for new and existing products, including non‑production items.
• Act as the communication link between internal customers, suppliers and external customers during ramp‑up and full‑production phases.
• Review requisitions, contact vendors, evaluate bids and initiate contracts.
• Drive purchases through the MRP process, assess order timing and manage last‑time buys for end‑of‑life products.
• Monitor on‑time delivery, purchase price variance and inventory levels; track forecast accuracy and update standard costs.
• Source and quote parts to improve supply continuity and reduce costs.
• Resolve supply‑chain issues such as shortages, allocations, discrepant material and alternate sources.
• Maintain data integrity, manage parameters and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Analyze variances, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Manage supplier performance, conduct regular reviews and drive performance improvements.
• Develop audit procedures and ensure procurement compliance with corporate policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or supply‑chain environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data, identify variances and propose solutions.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and make judgment‑based decisions.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and standard cost management.
