Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing raw materials, semi‑finished products and containers, ensuring optimal pricing, timely delivery and quality compliance. This role works closely with planning, manufacturing, quality control and logistics teams to support the global sourcing strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze purchase recommendations from the materials management system and generate Purchase Orders.
• Communicate POs to suppliers, receive acknowledgements and maintain PO records.
• Procure raw materials, semi‑finished goods and containers at competitive prices while guaranteeing delivery timeliness and quality.
• Support global sourcing strategy, negotiate long‑term supplier agreements and manage total cost.
• Handle import and export procedures with Chinese customs, agencies and freight forwarders to ensure on‑time shipments at optimal cost.
• Manage domestic logistics, coordinate warehouses, oversee 3rd‑party logistics vendors and monitor transportation status.
• Review daily KPIs, report supplier performance and drive corrective action plans.
• Participate in departmental meetings, GEMBA walks and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Assist product development teams to secure competitive raw‑material pricing and availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• APICS certification (CSCP, CPIM) preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemical industry.
• Strong problem‑solving and change‑management capabilities.
