About the role

As a Buyer at SBM Offshore, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the materials, equipment and services needed to support project execution and ongoing operations. You will work closely with project teams and the Category Management function to ensure timely delivery, cost‑effectiveness and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with project requirements, timelines and budgets.
• Source and evaluate suppliers according to strategic sourcing guidelines, ensuring they meet quality, cost and delivery criteria.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms to secure favourable agreements while mitigating risks.
• Issue and manage purchase orders, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to project specifications and company policies.
• Monitor procurement activities against budget constraints and identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Ensure all procurement actions comply with industry regulations, internal policies and safety standards.
• Provide regular status updates, risk assessments and mitigation strategies to project managers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration or a related field.
• Proven procurement experience within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
