Buyer – Indirect Procurement

About the role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Buyer to manage the full cycle of indirect procurement (Source‑to‑Pay). The role involves supplier management, contract creation, and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations while driving efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end indirect procurement processes, including supplier creation, RFQ, contract drafting, purchase requisition, goods receipt and payment.
• Negotiate agreements, terms and conditions with suppliers and ensure alignment with company policies and local laws.
• Conduct supplier annual reviews, category management, and implement paperless and standard contract templates.
• Develop and maintain a green catalog, answer department queries, and provide user training.
• Support price and payment term negotiations, document outcomes, and manage exceptions through ledgers and root‑cause analysis.
• Provide procurement consultation, drive automation via procurement platforms, and support strategic procurement with data analysis and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, procedures and internal guidelines.
