Advisor to Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

About the role

The New Development Bank is seeking a senior Advisor to support the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (VP&COO). Based at the Bank’s headquarters in Shanghai, the role will provide strategic insight, drive operational excellence, and act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical and strategic development to expand the Bank’s program opportunities and reputation.
• Integrate specialist perspectives, political and operational dimensions to identify opportunities and risks.
• Design strategies, policy initiatives, and knowledge products that advance the VP&COO’s agenda.
• Advise the VP&COO on operational matters, supporting strategy preparation and decision‑making.
• Motivate teams to pursue innovative operational approaches and deliver high‑quality proposals and services.
• Build collaborative relationships across departments, external partners, and accredited entities.
• Showcase thought leadership to position the Bank as a centre of excellence.
• Develop frameworks for capturing metrics, monitoring project pipelines, and reporting performance.
• Create indicators aligned with the Bank’s results‑management framework to assess impact.
