About the role
As an Advanced Physics & Algorithm Engineer you will lead the development and validation of imaging algorithms and physics models for Philips medical imaging products. You will work across the product cycle, from research and concept proof to product introduction, ensuring optimal image quality and system performance.
Key responsibilities
- Review and investigate image quality issues, develop specifications and drive improvements in reconstruction, artifact suppression and data calibration.
- Design and verify algorithms, create simulation models, and support proof‑of‑concept and advanced development projects.
- Lead image‑quality technology road‑map definition, publish research papers and file patents.
- Collaborate with marketing, customer support and operations to negotiate requirements and represent R&D in site visits.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years of product research and development experience in medical imaging.
Required skills
- Proficiency in MATLAB (including GUI development and C‑MEX).
- Software development experience in C, C++, C#.
- Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools such as GATE and Simulink.
- Knowledge of medical image reconstruction techniques for PET, SPECT and CT.
