Advanced Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

You will develop and verify embedded firmware for Philips Oral Healthcare products, supporting software delivery throughout the product development lifecycle. The position involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and occasional travel to supplier sites.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, debug and verify firmware for MCU‑based products, covering motor control, sensors, power management, user interfaces, BLE communication, RFID and connectivity.
• Manage software design activities with manufacturing partners, perform integration and verification testing, and support product qualification and mass‑production issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of embedded software/firmware development experience (3 years with a Master’s degree).
• Fluent in English and Chinese, with strong problem‑solving and independent work capabilities.

Required skills

• Embedded C/C++ development on MCU platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with UART, SPI, I²C, GPIO, ADC, PWM interfaces.
• Knowledge of BLE communication, RFID, user‑interface firmware and data storage.
• Understanding of RTOS fundamentals and embedded software architecture.
• Firmware debugging, root‑cause analysis and familiarity with Python or test‑automation tools.
