Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Eaton is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to lead assembly structure management and tailor‑made design projects for low‑voltage switchgear. You will work closely with project teams, marketing, and sales to ensure technical excellence and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assembly structure and provide technical guidance for custom designs.
• Lead critical and major LV switchgear projects, promoting standardisation.
• Support marketing and sales with technical communication, scheme selection and quotation preparation.
• Ensure project execution meets scope, specifications, compliance and schedule.
• Clarify drawings and design issues, produce complete BOM lists and manufacturing drawings.
• Assist the Project Manager during design meetings and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Automation or Mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a petrochemical environment, including electrical project commissioning and start‑up.
• Strong knowledge of low‑voltage motor control and power systems.
• Fluent reading and writing skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage overseas design projects (preferred).

Required skills

• Low‑voltage switchgear design.
• Familiarity with GB and IEC standards.
• Electrical and mechanical design for LV projects.
• CAD, E‑Plan, 3D modelling.
• SAP proficiency.
