Senior System Engineer – VMware & Alibaba Cloud

About the role

We are looking for a Senior System Engineer with deep expertise in VMware and Alibaba Cloud to join DXC Technology’s infrastructure services team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality technical support, implementing projects, and ensuring the stability and performance of our cloud and virtual environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support for infrastructure services, handling complex issues and inquiries.
• Assist in planning and executing infrastructure projects, including VMware and Alibaba Cloud deployments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise infrastructure systems to maintain optimal performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve efficiency and resolve technical challenges.
• Develop and maintain documentation such as incident reports and configuration records.
• Apply best practices and standards in service delivery and continuously seek improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar senior engineering role.
• Proven ability to analyse complex infrastructure technologies and solve problems.
• Continuous learner who stays up‑to‑date with industry trends.

Required skills

• VMware virtualization technologies.
• Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun) services.
• Cisco CCNA certification (or equivalent networking knowledge).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (or comparable cloud certification).
• CompTIA Security+ certification (or similar security expertise).
