Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will drive strategic projects that support Lubricants China’s digital transformation and operational excellence agenda. You will lead medium‑to‑large, complex initiatives across functions such as sales, marketing, supply chain and customer operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, monitor and close projects, ensuring delivery of business value.
• Manage project scope through structured change processes.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement plans and ensure clear communication across regional and global teams.
• Create and validate financial forecasts, track resource utilization and control budgets.
• Identify, mitigate and escalate risks promptly.
• Ensure compliance with Shell Project Delivery Framework and governance standards.
• Provide leadership to internal teams and external vendors, mentor junior staff and address performance issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field.
• 8+ years of project management experience in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Proven ability to lead teams of 10‑20 FTE and manage budgets exceeding $2 million.
• Strong financial management experience (budgeting, forecasting, cost control).
• Experience delivering end‑to‑end projects, including RFI/RFP, scoping, design, build and transition.
• Virtual team and global partnership management experience.
• PMI/PMP certification preferred.
• Excellent communication, influencing skills and fluency in English.
• Commitment to Shell’s safety, ethics and inclusion principles.
