Senior Manager, Strategic Planning

About the role

The Strategy Manager will serve as a core strategic intelligence and insight partner, providing senior leadership with real‑time strategic insights to inform long‑term direction, expand near‑term decision options, and shape the company’s China strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor China macro dynamics, identify potential opportunities and risks, and translate them into strategic implications for the business.
• Track and analyze China pharmaceutical industry trends, building a holistic, forward‑looking view in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
• Synthesize disparate signals into clear strategic narratives that guide decision‑making.
• Monitor strategic movements of leading pharmaceutical and biotech players, converting competitor activity into actionable risks and opportunities for China.
• Analyze annual and quarterly performance results and communicate concise insights on their implications to China leadership.
• Integrate insights across macro trends, industry dynamics, and competitor intelligence into a coherent strategic view and act as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related field; MBA or equivalent business training preferred.
• 6–10+ years of experience in pharma strategy, consulting, corporate strategy, or commercial excellence.
• Strong understanding of China pharmaceutical market dynamics and multinational operating models.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior executives.
• Solid analytical ability to connect commercial, financial, and industry signals.
• High learning agility, comfort with ambiguity, and a proactive, execution‑oriented mindset.
