Director, Search and Evaluation – Business Development & Licensing

About the role

We are seeking a Director for Business Development & Licensing – Search and Evaluation in China. The position is hybrid, requiring three days on‑site per week, and sits within the Global Business Development & Licensing organization. You will lead scientific due diligence and drive partnership opportunities across the drug development pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and execute business development opportunities across therapeutic areas and development stages.
• Lead deep scientific due diligence and ensure high‑quality formal output.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with legal, commercial, financial, and transaction teams to advance priority deals.
• Contribute to R&D and business development strategy with discovery and clinical leadership.
• Manage a portfolio of complex projects, serving as the primary scientific contact for licensing, acquisition, and collaboration deals.

Required profile

• PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in a life‑sciences or medical discipline.
• Substantial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or related fields such as consulting, equity research, or technology transfer.
• Proven track record in identifying, evaluating, and executing high‑impact business development deals.
• Comprehensive understanding of drug discovery, development, and the biopharma competitive landscape.
