Development Engineer

About the role

You will join the Product Standardization Department of the R&D Fuel & Exhaust Line Organization, working from our Shanghai office. The team defines standard product architectures and implements Product Data Management within a PLM framework, focusing on adapting and maintaining products for the Chinese market and supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the existing product portfolio.
• Execute design changes and support purchasing and supply‑chain activities.
• Take ownership of product and component design.
• Oversee prototype production, sample creation and laboratory testing.
• Support dual‑supply‑chain development and manage the component library.
• Assist in creating instruction manuals, spare‑parts catalogs and training materials.

Required profile

• Ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones (Italy, Sweden, China).
• Self‑starter mindset with accountability for component designs and portfolio maintenance.
• Clear communication to bridge engineering, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.
• Flexibility to adapt global products to local market requirements.
• Strong attention to detail in documentation, technical standards and component libraries.

Required skills

• Higher technical education degree or equivalent.
• Proficiency with PLM/PDM tools such as Teamcenter, Windchill or Enovia.
• Experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting using Inventor, Creo, SolidWorks or CATIA.
• Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BoM) structuring and component classification.
• Professional English for global coordination.
