Data Engineer – ETL/ELT & Cloud Data Platforms

About the role

Join Bosch Group as a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data solutions that support a wide range of business domains.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain reliable ETL/ELT batch and streaming data pipelines, ingesting structured, semi‑structured and unstructured data from multiple sources such as databases, APIs, logs and Kafka.
• Perform dimensional data modeling and build data warehouse / data lake layers (ODS, DWD, DWS, ADS), defining schema, partitioning strategy and data quality rules.
• Write and optimise complex SQL queries, tune performance and reduce resource costs while ensuring pipeline stability and SLA compliance.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and anomaly detection, troubleshoot data lineage and consistency issues.
• Use workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster to schedule, manage and monitor data jobs.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reusable datasets and data APIs.
• Participate in data governance activities including metadata management, security, access control and documentation.
• Evaluate and adopt cloud data technologies such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift, continuously optimising storage and compute costs.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with cloud data stacks on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Development of real‑time streaming pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Flink or Pulsar.
• Experience with data governance, lineage and metadata platforms.
• Support for machine‑learning feature platforms and feature engineering.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Domain knowledge in automotive, manufacturing, finance or retail is a plus.
