Cybersecurity Firmware Engineer

About the role

Eaton is seeking a Cybersecurity Firmware Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity features for industrial control products. The role ensures compliance with standards such as IEC 62443 and supports secure development throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded cybersecurity features and secure firmware solutions.
• Translate cybersecurity standards, regulations, and customer requirements into product and firmware specifications.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security architecture reviews.
• Identify, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities through testing and security assessments.
• Support cybersecurity certification activities (e.g., IEC 62443) and produce related documentation.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, system, and cybersecurity teams globally.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with VFDs, inverters, power converters, or motor drive systems.
• Strong background in embedded firmware development using C/C++.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity technologies, secure development practices, and IEC 62443.
• Experience with version control, DevOps, automated testing, and continuous integration.
• Proficiency with Application Lifecycle Management tools, preferably Atlassian suite.
• English proficiency preferred and strong problem‑solving skills.
