Communication Lead – Mainland China

About the role

Based in Beijing, the Communications Lead for Societe Generale China will design and execute the communication strategy for the Corporate & Investment Banking franchise across Mainland China. Working closely with the Asia‑Pacific Communications team and local business leaders, you will raise the bank’s profile, support business priorities and ensure consistent, compliant messaging across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a China‑specific communication roadmap aligned with regional strategy and business goals.
• Create and distribute high‑quality editorial content that showcases expertise, corporate culture and market insights.
• Manage local digital platforms, including WeChat and the corporate website, to maximise audience engagement.
• Ensure brand guidelines are applied consistently across all materials and campaigns.
• Organise client, corporate and internal events in partnership with business lines.
• Identify and manage local partnerships that reinforce the Societe Générale brand.
• Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets and journalists, preparing spokespeople for media interactions.
• Monitor communication performance, manage the local budget and ensure compliance with Group policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of corporate communications experience, preferably within financial services.
• Excellent writing and content development skills in both Chinese and English.
• Strong understanding of China’s digital ecosystem, especially WeChat.
• Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with high integrity and attention to detail.
