Claims Officer (Commercial / Employees' Compensation)

About the role

Zurich Insurance is seeking a Claims Officer to manage Employees’ Compensation (EC) claims with a focus on liability, investigation and settlement. The role involves driving outcomes on liability, return‑to‑work and injury management while delivering professional service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Review, resolve and finalize EC claims within authority limits, ensuring optimal settlements.
• Monitor claims proactively to minimise settlement costs and handle litigated claims, coordinating with customers and external contacts.
• Develop claim strategies, assign appropriate reserves, conduct investigations and engage suppliers.
• Maintain compliance with group claims procedures, documentation standards and best practices.
• Identify potential fraud or recovery opportunities and report adverse claim trends to management.

Required profile

• Degree holder in Insurance, Business Administration, Legal or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Employees’ Compensation claims management; legal claims experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance, insurance principles and litigation processes.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
• Negotiation skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Understanding of liability assessment and claim settlement processes.
• Ability to analyse evidence, detect fraud indicators and calculate claim values.
• Familiarity with reserve setting and monitoring within authority limits.
