Claims Administrator (Chinese Speaking)

About the role

APRIL International is seeking an experienced professional to lead insurance operations in China. The role covers underwriting, policy management, claims handling and customer service, ensuring operational quality, regulatory compliance and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Underwriting Support & Risk Assessment – perform and oversee underwriting activities, review risks, policy terms and pricing, and act as the operational interface with regional underwriting partners.
• Policy Management & Administration – manage the full policy lifecycle from onboarding to renewal and cancellation, ensure accurate documentation and coordinate with brokers and insurers.
• Claims Handling & Oversight – manage day‑to‑day claims from notification to settlement, ensure compliance with policy terms, SLAs and local regulations, and act as escalation point for complex claims.
• Customer Service & Service Quality – serve as senior contact for key corporate and individual clients, handle escalations and complaints, and drive a client‑outcome‑focused culture.
• Compliance, Controls & Market Practices – maintain compliance with local regulatory and internal governance requirements, support audits and keep abreast of market changes.
• Continuous Improvement & Cross‑Functional Support – identify process simplifications, support system enhancements and contribute to operating model evolution.

Required profile

• Solid experience across multiple insurance functions (underwriting, policy administration, claims or operations).
• Prior exposure to health insurance, IPMI or employee benefits is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of insurance policy structures and claims adjudication.
• Ability to operate hands‑on, independently, with limited local support.
• High attention to detail and strong ownership mindset.

Required skills

• Native Mandarin required; working English required.
• Experience with insurance administration and claims systems preferred.
