Business Controller – Shanghai (Downtown)

About the role

The Business Controller will partner with business units to drive financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for an industrial multinational operating in Shanghai. You will translate corporate strategy into actionable financial plans and ensure high‑quality, compliant reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, aligning targets with global and local strategies.
• Ensure accurate financial data, compliance with SOX, US GAAP and internal controls.
• Identify and communicate commercial and financial risks, supporting risk‑management reviews.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to achieve budget and forecast objectives.
• Develop and mentor direct and indirect reports, fostering talent within the finance function.
• Maintain timely communication with stakeholders, including FAO, and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Background in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Familiarity with financial regulations such as SOX and US GAAP.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Annual salary range: 600,000 CNY – 800,000 CNY.
• Permanent contract based in Shanghai.
