AWS Legal Corporate Counsel

About the role

Amazon's Legal Department is seeking an experienced attorney in Beijing to support the Amazon Web Services (AWS) business and marketing teams. The Corporate Counsel will act as a trusted legal advisor, handling complex cloud‑technology transactions and helping scale legal support for a global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate high‑value, strategic commercial agreements for AWS services.
• Provide ongoing legal counsel to business and marketing teams on cloud‑technology matters.
• Manage legal issues in existing commercial relationships and advise on risks for new initiatives.
• Handle pre‑litigation disputes and inquiries.
• Contribute to other legal workstreams as needed.

Required profile

• 6+ years of legal experience with a Juris Doctor degree and bar membership.
• Experience in transactional and technology licensing.
• Licensed to practice law in China and/or a common‑law jurisdiction (US, UK, etc.).
• Deep understanding of Chinese law and practices.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills in both English and Chinese.
• Mature, self‑motivated, and able to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
