Legal Counsel – APAC (Shanghai)

About the role

This role provides legal support to a wide range of business operations across the APAC region, with a primary focus on China. The successful candidate will handle day‑to‑day legal matters while collaborating with senior counsel on regional projects, joint ventures, restructurings and disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate procurement agreements and provide commercial legal advice to APAC stakeholders.
• Monitor and enhance the APAC Procurement Contracting Platform, ensuring contract governance, compliance and efficiency.
• Support Catalyst business on commercial and strategic matters, including contract negotiation and risk assessment.
• Assist APAC O&P and China licensing businesses with commercial contracts, technology licenses and related documentation.
• Collaborate with APAC Paralegals on corporate governance, entity management and PRC regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law and qualified lawyer in China or another recognized jurisdiction.
• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably with in‑house or cross‑border exposure.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural, matrixed environment.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to manage priorities and deadlines.
