Software Engineer - Edge AI

About the role

The AI Platform / Infrastructure team at NXP is looking for a Software Engineer specialized in Edge AI to develop, deploy, and operate machine‑learning solutions on microcontrollers and other resource‑constrained devices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise embedded ML inference engines for microcontrollers.
• Train and fine‑tune models using TensorFlow and PyTorch for deployment on low‑power devices.
• Implement techniques to improve model performance on memory‑limited hardware.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate ML solutions into embedded systems.
• Conduct research on new ML techniques and tools for embedded applications.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in Embedded ML by reviewing technical articles and research papers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with TensorFlow and PyTorch for model training and deployment.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming.
• Extensive experience in embedded software development and machine learning.
• Excellent ability to read and understand technical articles and research papers in English.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and good communication abilities.
