Associate/Senior Business Tax Consultant – Guangzhou

About the role

We are seeking an Associate or Senior Consultant to join our Core Business Tax practice in Guangzhou. You will work closely with senior leadership to deliver tax compliance, reporting and planning services for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Apply technical tax knowledge to support client compliance and reporting projects.
• Draft reports, identify key issues and risks, and propose practical solutions.
• Prepare recommendations on tax administration, appeals processes and implementation strategies.
• Guide the full Business Tax project lifecycle, including data collection, analysis and technology enablement.
• Research tax authority procedures and draft responses to tax authorities.
• Provide initial tax recommendations based on current legislation across global tax and advisory functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in tax, accounting, finance, law or related fields.
• Professional accounting qualification, PRC‑registered tax agent or lawyer status.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tax functions within CPA firms (Big 4 preferred), law firms, tax authorities or large corporations.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of local and international tax legislation.
• Strong analytical ability, high quality client service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent project management, interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
