Project Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Project Director to lead our architecture team in Shanghai. You will be responsible for overall design direction, project delivery, and client management for large‑scale, complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee multiple major projects from concept through construction administration, ensuring design excellence, on‑time delivery and budget compliance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, building strong relationships and presenting design concepts effectively.
• Guide the design team to maintain the highest aesthetic and functional standards, ensuring design intent throughout all phases.
• Lead, mentor and inspire architects and designers, allocate resources efficiently and foster a collaborative studio culture.
• Coordinate with interior, landscape, MEP disciplines and external consultants, ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Manage project budgets, fee proposals and contracts, identifying opportunities for business growth.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading architecture projects of large scale and complexity.
• Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to understand and translate client needs.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and manage multidisciplinary design teams.
• Commercial acumen with experience handling budgets, contracts and business development.
